BARWELL TIP SET TO CLOSE FOR THREE WEEKS FROM 2ND JUNE

BARWELL TIP SET TO CLOSE FOR THREE WEEKS FROM 2ND JUNE

Barwell Tip will be closed temporarily for three weeks from Sunday, June 2.

The closure is set to take place for three weeks, to allow "essential site maintenance and fencing work" to be carried out by Leicestershire County Council. The site will remain closed off until Saturday, June 22.

During the closure, residents and permit holders will need to visit either Coalville or Whetstone tip sites.

The Coalville site in Linden Way is open from 9am to 7pm Saturday to Wednesday, while Whetstone's site in Enderby Road operates from 9am to 7pm Thursday to Monday.

Councillor Blake Pain, county council cabinet member for environment and waste, said: "The temporary closure of the Barwell site is necessary to allow us to undertake maintenance work.
"Two other local waste sites (Whetstone and Coalville) will be available for residents to use during this time and we apologise for any inconvenience caused by the closure."
