Barwell Knutty Knitters receive support from Parish Council

Barwell Parish Council are pleased to support Barwell Knutty Knitters with a £400.00 grant donation which will be put towards purchasing yarn and a secure storage unit for their next Yarn Bombing event.

Cllrs. Pete Stead-Davis and Mathew Hulbert presented Lesley Waldron and some of her knitters with the cheque during a Council Meeting earlier this month. Cllr Pete Stead-Davis Chairman of Barwell Parish Council said: "The Parish Council are once again pleased to support Barwell Knutty Knitters, the work and time that goes into Yarn Bombing Barwell is absolutely amazing and always brings a smile to villagers and commuters passing through".

Considered a non-permanent and environmentally friendly form of "graffiti", the yarn bomb craze covers bollards, statues and posts with colourful knits bringing colour to towns and villages.

Accepting the cheque on behalf of the Barwell Knutty Knitters, Lesley Waldron said: "We're very pleased and privileged to receive this grant from Barwell Parish Council, as always we are very short of yarn and storage facilities so this donation will make a huge difference to us. If anyone has any spare yarn to donate or would like to get involved in the next Barwell Yarnbomb then please get in touch by facebook (Barwell Yarnbomb).
