Another 400+ new trees planted in Barwell Park

The planting of over 400 free trees, from the Woodland Trust took place at the weekend with help from Councillor Michael Gould and Cllr Pete Stead-Davis.

This now brings the total to well over 1000 new trees being planted over the last three years on Barwell Park, in addition to hundreds of wildflower plug plants and strips of wildflower seeds being sown.

Cllr Michael Gould said "We are delighted to receive another donation of over 400 trees from the Woodland Trust. These trees will help increase biodiversity, provide shelter, prevent soil erosion, reduce flooding and much more to help reduce our carbon footprint."

We would like to thank the Woodland Trust, the Forestry Commission and the Parish Council's climate change team for supporting the planting of these trees on Council land.
