Barwell Parish Council cancel popular Christmas lights switch-on event because of on-going fears over the coronavirus

The village will still have a Christmas tree and Christmas lights, but there won't be an actual lights switch on event this year.

This decision was taken at a virtual Events Meeting on Monday 10th August as it was decided that they just "can't take the chance" this year with Government warnings that a second wave of the pandemic is a possibility. Many other councils in the region have also cancelled... Read More »

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER FOR HIGH STREET, BARWELL

Leicestershire County Council Highways has agreed to a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order at the above location on the 30th November from 15.00 to 21.00 hours. This temporary traffic regulation order will be implemented for public safety during the Barwell Christmas Lights Switch On.

Leicestershire County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused during this event.

Local Shop Windows have been decorated for Christmas for the Barwell Parish Council "Best Dressed Christmas Window" competition which coincided with the Barwell Light Switch-on last Saturday 24th November 2018.
